Appeals to the Institutional Church
Call to Pope Francis
The success of the synod is predicated on open dialogue. I am asking Pope Francis to honor the integrity of the synod by doing two things:

  • Explicitly state that clerics and religious can openly share on this issue without fear of punishment.

  • Have an audience with women called to priesthood so he can hear for himself our experiences and take what he learns to his prayer.

Call to Ordained and Vowed Religious
In this appeal, I ask bishops, priests, deacons and vowed religious who privately believe in women's ordination to speak out openly on this issue according to their conscience. Women's ordination has been raised repeatedly by the laity throughout the synod process across the world. The ordained and religious must use their institutional privilege to amplify these voices in order for Pope Francis and the bishops to get a better read of the Holy Spirit's movement across the Church on this issue. These statements must be public and not behind closed doors for transparency, so that the Body of Christ can see for themselves how the Spirit is moving and what content Bishops will be taking to their prayer and discussions in October 2023.
