FOR THE ORDINATION OF WOMEN TO PRIESTHOOD
SIGN THE PETITIONUrge the Catholic Church to include priesthood in the upcoming study on the role of women in the Church
Pope Francis recently created ten working groups to study the significant issues that emerged from the consultation of God's people through the synod process. One group is tasked with studying the role of women in the Church. However, priesthood was intentionally excluded from their work even though calls for the ordination of women as priests came from around the world. This petition calls the Church to include priesthood in the already-planned study scheduled to take place from November 2024 to June 2025.

WEAR RED & pOST

#speakupinthesynod
The majority of Catholics in many countries know that God is calling women to be priests. This includes thousands of deacons, priests, bishops, cardinals, vowed religious brothers and sisters. What if all this hidden support was made visible? Such visibility would create a sacramental sign that would enter the prayer and dialogue of the Synod meetings in October. Red is the color of ordination, so put on your best red outfit and post! Be sure to keep it joyful in the Spirit!

yOUR PARTICIPTION calls the synod discernment process to integrity
Good discernment requires a good question and the collection of all the relevant information related to the question. The Church currently seems to be asking, "Can the Church ordain women?" This is a faulty question that centers the discernment on the Church rather than God. The better phrasing is, "Is God calling women to ordained ministries in the Church?" This question makes the Holy Spirit the protagonist of the discernment, and invites a fresh look at the relevant scripture, tradition, lived experience, and signs of the times. Once the right question is proposed, the Church must gather all the relevant information on the issue. This includes a more honest history of women in leadership, the voices of women from around the world called to priesthood, and transparency of where all ordained and vowed religious stand on the issue.
honest HISTORY OF WOMEN IN LEADERSHIPThis history of the leadership, participation and ordination of women in the Church has been obfuscated and made hidden. Many reputable scholars have uncovered a rich history of women's participation in the Church throughout the centuries, and their ongoing battle against the cultural forces that work to keep them subjugated.

TRANSPARENCY of ordained & religiousThere are thousands of ordained deacons, priests, bishops and cardinals, as well as vowed religious sisters and brothers, who know that God calls women to be priests, yet they are largely silent/silenced. Pope Francis as lead pastor must ensure these people can speak freely without retribution.
